Video: Mark Donnal at Spiece Run ‘n Slam Classic

Dylan Burkhardt

Michigan has been evaluating numerous options for a 2013 big man and Mark Donnal has emerged as an intriguing candidate. Donnal has a great frame for a young prospect and gets up and down the floor pretty well. He needs to add strength to his frame but he appears to have a bright future. Michigan coaches have been in to see Donnal play and he also plans to attend Michigan’s Elite Camp this June. Here are a few clips of Donnal from this weekend’s Spiece Run ‘n Slam Classic versus Mean Streets Express. posted a nice interview with Donnal discussing his recruitment, which is embedded after the jump.

Several updates to the future schedule. Added Bradley, Oakland and Towson.

Yay for adding Bradley! That is the nearest D1 school to where I live. I was there the last time we played in Peoria. It was my freshman or sophomore year of high school. Man Robbie Reid was a bad pg.

Won’t travel to Bradley until the year after this upcoming season.

Nothing to get too excited about in that clip but he’s young.

there’s a thing over at mgoblog about a transfer from george mason possibly looking to come here

  • Tweeter

Post from Brian on Mgoblog regarding Luke Hancock of George Mason. Apparently he is deciding whether or not to transfer, Michigan and Virginia have been mentioned as possible destinations. Anyone heard anything about this?

He was CAA freshman of the year and led the team in assists. He is a 6’5 swingman according to their AD. He would have two years to play after sitting out a year next season.

I dont think this makes sense for Michigan to do, unless he is a big time player (I watched a few of their games last season but cannot remember him at all). But if they did add him, then we are out of scholarships for the next two classes depending on attrition and would only have one for 2013. Plus the graduating class for 2013 would swell to 7. That is incredibly unbalanced and creates potential problems for 2014 with a team full of freshmen.
