To The Point: The Day Before

A couple features from open practice at Time Warner Cable Arena this afternoon. First off, we have Clark Kellogg discussing the match-up and what Michigan needs to do earn a victory.

After the jump we have some awesome photos from the open practice and a bonus video of Zack Novak reciting pi to an extraordinary number of digits.

Here’s Novak reciting pi from WXYZ’s Tom Leyden:

Cool photos… Is David on the radio broadcast tomorrow? Someone had mentioned that Frank Beckman may be filling in for Shep. Just curious.

I hope Cinderella’s flight gets delayed in Denver and doesn’t show up in Charlotte til the 3:10 p.m. game tomorrow. Vanderbilt and Louisville got upset. The way things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised if Wofford beat BYU in Denver tonight. Maybe the altitude is effecting teams there.

Yeah it’ll be Becks and David, according to the UM game notes. I figure Shep is doing hockey somewhere?

    • Mason

Looked it up. He’s doing the ECAC hockey semis for CBS College Sports.

Thanks for the info. Really looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

The UM women’s team lost to EMU. The Big Ten needs to look at when it has women’s conference tournament. The Big Ten Tournament was two weeks ago, so Michigan’s women hadn’t played a game in a long time. It’s understandable as to why they’d be rusty.

Color me confused? Who is Cinderella? It sounds like you’re referring to Tennessee? How on Earth is a SEC team a Cinderella?

      • Brian W

Cinderella refers to a higher-numbered seed beating a lower-numbered seed. If you noticed, I said the 3:10 game, which is the Duke game. I’d like to have the upset in the Charlotte region be the Duke game, not Michigan (8 seed) losing to Tennessee (9 seed). My bracket took some hits yesterday when Louisville, Vanderbilt, and St. John’s got upset in Denver yesterday.

    Novak does it all!

My Sports Illustrated March Madness edition arrived today – the pic of David Lighty sortof wrecks the cover, but there’s a nice little pic of Darius on there too.

Who’s the huge cartoon guy on the white board?

Is this not one of the best coaching jobs (from all the Michigan coaches) that we’ve ever seen here? This was supposed to be a rebuilding year and now we’re supposed to win a first round game and challenge Duke in the second round. Trying not to get too far ahead of myself but just being in this position when you remember back to the pre-season and where we were projected is amazing.
