On the football front, I see Shawn Conway had 27 points last night too. Heck of an athlete! Too bad he will have to go JUCO.

I think part of Izzo’s genius is that he shows the players “how” to lose. In other words, if you don’t “do exactly what I ask” plus the public comments about their manhood…..then you are a loser.

I’m getting sick and tired of people acting as if Tom Izzo is some god. He is a good coach, sure, but he gets way too much credit. His teams repeatedly fail to reach expectations and then we get people like this who come out and say that he is losing on purpose to teach his team “how to lose” because they aren’t doing as he says and then the public comments that they are not men because they are losing? So somehow out of this Izzo is the best coach ever because he wants to lose early on I guess is what I am getting out of this. It’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Have you ever thought that just maybe he isn’t the great coach everyone makes him out to be and that this team is just not what it is cracked up to be? I would be willing to bet with anyone that they won’t make the Final Four this year, but they will do something like win the first game of the Tourney with a 7 seed and everyone will praise Izzo because he will “get something out of nothing”. Perhaps it’s time to start questioning his coaching ability?? Just a thought.

I don’t know how anyone can question the guy considering the success he’s had. To say that “His teams repeatedly fail to reach expectations” is beyond ludicrous. Are saying that because they’ve only reached like 6 Final Fours in the last 12 years instead of 12 for 12? Come on. Izzo is well on his way to becoming one of the all-time coaching legends.

        • Sam

Well, considering what his teams are expected to finish, yes, he has failed to reach expectations. It’d be like saying if Duke made the Final Four this year that it would be a tremendous success even though they are expected to win it all.

Dylan, the link suppose to tell how Brundidge scored 41 points somehow goes to an article about girl basketball.

Yeah, it’s just the Detroit News recap — the blurb about CB is just in the listing of scores at the bottom.
