Introducing To The Point with David Merritt

I’m pleased to introduce another new feature for the upcoming season, this one is a collaboration with David Merritt. Merritt, best known for his play on Michigan’s 2009 team, is currently running his own company and providing radio color commentary during Michigan games. We’ve brought Merritt on board to provide unique insights on the Michigan basketball program from a slightly different angle. Merritt will provide commentary, updates from the road, and more as he covers each game. Here’s a brief intro from Merritt himself. – Dylan

Hello everyone. I’m pretty excited about this new section and collaboration with! After working together a little bit last year, mostly conducting a few question/answer interviews, Dylan and I decided that we should expand our efforts. This year we are bringing you “To The Point” – which will kind of be my personal section and viewpoint covering Michigan Basketball throughout the 2010-2011 season. Don’t worry, I won’t bore you! As I travel with the team while fulfilling my color commentary radio duties, I’ll be posting cool features, blogs and videos. And check this out, we are also going to be doing live post game chats with YOU after games. Exciting eh? So all in all, I look forward to getting to know the readers and visitors out there because we are going to be asking you to help create some of the content. Trust me, this is going to be fun. Thanks!

David Merritt is a former Michigan basketball captain and played on the 2008-2009 NCAA Tournament Team. David is also the founder of I Miss You, Inc. & The IMU Brand, an apparel company focused on offering high quality product while spreading happiness and bettering communities.

Great idea. I’m looking forward to hearing your insights throughout the season, David. Props to Dylan as well for continuing to expand on an already great site. Go Blue!

  • AG2

I’d love to hear about how IMU is doing.

  • Ryan

The Lakers game was on… Kobe.

  • DeathReau

Nice. To me this, along with the re-design, really takes this site to the next level. Hopefully the program follows suit once their re-design is complete!

Glad to see you’re still involved with UM basketball, David. Same with CJ. Your contributions on the court definitely didn’t go un-noticed, but hopefully that’s the just beginning for you guys.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” music was a nice touch. Re: raising taxes, you better check with CJ on that one.

  • David Merritt

MaizeNBlueJ & DeathReau – Thanks for the comments! I really appreciate it.

AG2 – IMU is doing well! I love the challenge that is before us every day. In the next few months, we plan on releasing some more plans that will further help us spread happiness and better communities.

Always love seeing former players giving back to their programs. That tournament year was one hell of a season!

  • Hey David; what is your feeling on the current team? Are we a tournament team this year?

  • MichBall2010

Haha waldo, I can tell you the answer if you want = No

  • David Merritt

georgeesq. – I’ll get on that. Lol.

TheYooper – I appreciate the support!

Waldo78 – I don’t feel we are a tournament team this year because of our youth and lack of inside scoring. However, you never know what could happen. Our tournament team in 08-09 wasn’t supposed to be a tournament team either. Go Blue!

  • WingedKnight

I frequent this site but have yet to post. After seeing this news I had to say how awesome this is! This type of content could take this site to the next level! Great job, Dylan.

To David, I had so much fun watching you play during that magical tourney season; you meant a lot to that team! And I am really looking forward to To The Point!
