Report: Dane Fife Turns Down Michigan

According to Indiana’s News Center, Dane Fife has turned down an assistant coaching job at Michigan to remain at IPFW. Fife refused to specify whether he was officially offered the job but it is clear that both parties discussed the open position. Here’s a updated report from the News Sentinel:

Fife has been involved in “conversations” with both Michigan and Indiana regarding vacant assistant coaching positions; he said Monday, however, he anticipates being at IPFW next season.

“I am not pursuing the assistant coaching position at Michigan,” Fife said. “I expect to be at IPFW next year.”

He admitted having talks with Wolverine coach John Beilein about the job, but refrained from explaining as to whether any offer was made.

“Those talks are to remain private,” Fife said.
