That’s an interesting story about that high school kid going to Europe. I really don’t have a problem with a kid choosing to play in Europe rather than do charity work for some university for a year.

Of course, this kid is skipping his final year in high school too. But it does seem like he and his family have done a lot of thinking on this. I don’t think his education will be any different getting a GED on the side than if he stayed at some random US high school or went to one of those basketball factories.

    I wish him luck.

Izzo goes to Broadway? Wow, that’s got to be cringe-worthy to sit through.

If Zeigler goes to Kansas… I don’t know what I’m going to do but it’s going to be drastic!

OT: did izzo ever shave his head? I always thought he was a weasel-y bastard. Though props to him for talking up the big ten like a madman during the tourney run.

Da’shonte Riley #2 for 2009? huh? didn’t he plummet through the rankings and now he’s back to the top?

I will be shocked if Riley doesn’t take off now that he is away from Keener. DCD big men tend to get better once they get away from him.

After thinking about it, that Tyler kid isn’t really forgoing his final year of high school to turn pro, he’s just moving to Europe where you don’t have to choose between being a student or a pro athlete because you can be BOTH.

I have no problem with what he’s doing. Its like the kid’s dad said, if he was just doing this for the money, there are several “NCAA-approved” ways of taking money under the table. I mean look at the guy, he’s 17 and he’s already bigger and stronger than LeBron was.
