Speaking of black eyes. Did anybody see Merritts eye? From where I was sitting, it looked like he had a black eye. Just curious if anybody knew anything about it.

Man, what an exciting game!

About as much of a “must win” as a team can have in the 2nd game of conference play.

Defense stepped up in the 2nd half and that led to transition buckets.

Can’t say enough good things about Novak. He is a hard nosed player that somehow manages to bang on the inside on defense and then has a dead-eye on offense.

Peedi didn’t play that well but Gibson stepped up big time in the 2nd half to give UM an inside presence. Can’t believe I just said Gibson and “defensive presence” in the same sentence.

Wow.

Manny played well on the glass and in transition, struggled in the half-court but defenses are focusing on him from here on out so guys will have to step up.

I have no clue what coach did at half-time to spark the great defense in the 2nd half, but it worked to perfection.

I agree that it was a big win, and a great game by Gibson. I didn’t think that our offense was very fluid, and I worry that we still depend too much on 3s and timely steals (I realize that 3s are and will be a staple of our offense).
