Housekeeping: Hot Board, iPhone, and More

Some site updates over the long weekend…

2010 Hotboard. I finally put a 2010 hotboard together. It’s a light list for now but I’ll expand is as more targets appear. The top priorities appear to be Trey Zeigler and Will Regan at this point. Let me know if I’m missing any names or there are any other problems. I will update the future targets page and put it back up with some 2011 and 2012 names.

iPhone Version. I’ve setup an iPhone version of the site for people who view the site out on their iPhones (a whopping .4% of you). Let me know how it works, it’s simple but will make browsing and commenting on the site much faster on your phone. You access it by entering the URL normally on your phone. Leave me some feedback in the comments if you use your phone.

Chunk URLs. Long URLs in the comments used to extend out over the sidebars on the right side. These will now be shortened automatically to keep everything looking clean. Feel free to post long URLs fearlessly.

Traffic. The site went over the 500,000 hit mark last week and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for visiting. I never would have thought there would be this much traffic this soon. I really enjoy running the blog and your comments and feedback are probably the most rewarding part.

I get as much or more enjoyment out of this site then I do for my subscription to gobluewolverine. I love football but I’m all about the hoops and scout doesn’t write near enough hoops coverage IMO.
Thanks for making this my favorite Michigan site.

My favorites: (from best to decent)

    umhoops.com
    michigan.scout.com
    mgoblog.com

Great work on the site, Dylan. It’s awesome to have one spot with such good coverage of all aspects of the team. I’m not surprised you’re getting so many hits.

Zeigler would be another big pickup- Beilein’s doing a great job recruiting!

1st post and just wanted to say nice job with the site Dylan. Keep it up.

Only thing that desperately needs attention now is the banner image at the top!

I know you wanted to get a pic of the new court, but I think it might be cool to have some sort of collage with shots of Beilein, the players, and the Rage, with the new center court “M” in the middle.

Congrats on 500,000……You can expect many more hits from me. This has become my home base for UM Hoops news!

  15. 15 Dylan

gpsimms: The last games on ESPNU were shown on justin.tv — I’ll try to dig up the link to the channel/page that was streaming ESPNU.

  16. 16 gpsimms

    again, thank you

  17. 17 Ky Fox

Yes, a collage with JB and the players would make for a nice banner.

  18. 18 Ohms

Lookin good on the iPhone here too

A half-million hits in 11 months! Wow! That’s unreal! Outstanding. It goes to show that in tough times, through the Amaker years, and now Beilein’s rebuilding, Michigan basketball fans are loyal.
