Game 1: Michigan Tech at Michigan Pre Game

Dylan Burkhardt

WHAT: Michigan vs. Michigan Tech
WHEN: November 11th, 7 PM EST
WHERE: Crisler Arena, Ann Arbor
Tickets: Of course they are available! Students also get in free with M-Card.

Preview (D2 Bullet Edition):

  • Who starts? I think Ant Wright is better coming off the bench than starting and Peedi played great in the exhibition contest. I would expect to see DeShawn start at the four from here on out.
  • I’m going to be watching the defense and rebounding for the most part. Michigan should dominate in the paint against a small Michigan Tech team even with the depth issues in the post. Michigan Tech’s tallest player is a 6-8 freshman.
  • Of course keep an eye on the point guard spot. Merritt will probably get the start again but will Kelvin have a better night than his lackluster exhibition game?
  • Interestingly enough, Tech only lost by 5 points to the Spartans last year in exhibition play but didn’t have a remarkable season beyond that, finishing 13-14 overall.
  • Also, if anyone gets to Crisler early, I’d love to hear a report on how Northeastern or IUPUI looked.
  • Brick

Not only is their tallest player a 6-8 freshman, I believe he played with Puls in HS at Alpena and wasn’t as good. We should have a definite advantage in the paint tonight.

It will be the one of few times this year we will have an advantage in the post.

Anybody know how to listen to this game far from Michigan. My link to MGoBlue audio doesn’t seem to be working. Anybody else having problems with it?

  • Kevin in GR

Same starting lineup as last game (Merritt/Douglass/Harris/Wright/Gibson) Novak first off the bench. Wonder how long Sims will keep coming off the bench. Wright started off with back to back triples!

  • Dylan

17-7 um at the 12 min mark. Peedi came in at the first tv time out for ant and then ant replaced Gibson.

  • Kevin in GR

    42-24 UM @ half. Manny with 18.

  • Dylan

    well manny came to play…

  • formerlyanonymous

Pass defense has looked damn fine this game. We are breaking up all sorts of passes.

  • Kevin in GR

UM 77, MT 55. Next game tomorrow night @ 8 vs Northeastern!

manny played really good, i was pretty impressed with stu, i don’t think he had very many to’s which is really a crucial ingredient if this team wants to be good this year
