Another Award for Novak

Dylan Burkhardt

Novak was named the NW Indiana Times Player of the Year. Former winners of the award include Luke Harangody and E’twaun Moore. Memphis 5 star commit Angel Garcia did not make the team.

“You just want to prove (skeptics) wrong,” Novak said. “That made it easier. I was up against the wall, in recruiting terms. It got to the point where I really had nothing to lose. I prepared really hard to make something happen. I was just worried about winning games and if I was playing well, I knew things would take care of themselves. It worked out perfect in the end.”

Hopefully Novak keeps playing with a chip on his shoulder at Michigan because I really think he can be a great player here. Check out the article for some more good quotes.

It just hit me that this staff won’t overlook some of the lower ranked recruits that are shooters….which many fans are upset that we arent recruiting 5 stars….

The reason this just hit me and im pretty jacked up about it is because Mr. Curry from davidson wasn’t a hot recruit and I would give anything for him to be playing for michigan. He’s the best shooter I have seen in a while.

40 pts in an NCAA tourney game for a scout 3 star and rivals 3 star.

  • Knew this kid was the real deal when I saw him play at Crisler last year. It was probably the 2nd or 3rd game of his career and he went off. I think he had about 32 points. Hopefully WKU can win so my upset picks look decent at least. St Mary’s looks like they had a miserable 2nd half.

Good to hear that you were at that Davidson game last year, Dylan… if I remember correctly there were only like 15 or 20 students there (unlike most of the student body I would rather watch our basketball team in person than our football team on TV at Indiana).

I’m getting more and more excited about Zack. It was also great to watch that WV game last night and realize that all those guys were unheralded Beilein recruits just like our boys coming in.

  • WKU!!!! Epic game. Game of the tournament. Sure was a fun one.

Yea, so far that was only the third really entertaining game. Belmont-Duke was great, and KSU-USC was cool just to watch a couple future NBA stars duke it out.

Please try not to post Rivals/Scout premium info here. Thanks -Dylan

How ’bout those Mountaineers? This team, entirely recruited by Beilein, is on the verge of making the Sweet 16 for the third time in four years!

I just watched WVU beat Duke and am encouraged as a UM fan! Although, Duke couldn’t hit a 3 today which UM had a problem defending all year long. We just have to have patience with Beilein/UM!

I agree!! It’s nice to have a couch with a proven track record of success. I believe!!

  • UMbballDC

Coaches are better than couches, but I like both! *

*in reference to my mistake above!

yep…west va looks good and you can see what beilein can do! West va has balance!! Shooters, distibutors…and most of the players on theyre team are very versitale! Remember when beilein told us that deshawn was going to be his special project??….do u think maybe he told people surrounding the mountaineers program that joe alexander was going to be his special project?? Even if he didnt tell anyone, I bet thats what he was thinking! Experts say that if joe alexander was to enter the draft after this season he would be a first rounder…scouts are salavating! Thats what jb can do…..alexander was a 2 star on both databases! Therefore I am hyped for this upcoming season! I am not going to underestimate john beileins ability at all!
