Ebuka to Colorado?

Dylan Burkhardt

Sounds like the Ebuka Anyaorah sweepstakes are over. The Daily Camera is reporting that Ebuka is likely to commit to Colorado very shortly. Guess we will never know what happened with Ebuka’s visit.

McClain’s ability to recruit is another reason Bzdelik enjoys his company so much. And it appears the coaching staff is on the verge of locking up another prize recruit.

Ebuka Anyaorah, a 6-foot-4 guard from Suwanee, Ga., is expected to chose CU over Michigan, Texas A&M;, Georgia and Georgia Tech. He made a visit to Boulder on March 1 and watched the Buffs beat Iowa State 67-55.

Anyaorah is a talented late bloomer who averaged 26.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and three assists per game. CU had a scholarship become available after Xavier Silas was dismissed from the team last month.

We hadn’t offered him, had we?

  • I would say we offered him. But it begs the question whether he canceled his UM visit or we canceled his UM visit. I think the staff definitely wanted him, thats just a guess though.

This leaves Cassity and Watts on the board.

I think this has come up before, but is their a deadline?

  • To sign? No.

There is a signing day. Not sure on the exact date.

But any recruit doesn’t have to sign an LOI and can just enroll. (Reed Baker did this)

if UM “really wanted” Ebuka, I think he would have made the visit.

Tony Bennet to IU, Klay Thompson to Michigan.

    Wishful thinking.

I really hope we just bank the scholarship for ’09. That way we can get Andy Brown and Darius Morris insteady of just one of them.

Im absolutley with Andrew on this! We have already landed three really good prospects…who are good shooters and are an offensive threat! I believe we should just take a breath and see what the team looks like next year, and recruit accordingly! We have a lot of depth at gaurd, not necessarily at point but at the 2. We’ve already locked up Jordan Morgan who is going to add a physical prescense down low along with cronin and crew, so I beleive after next year Jb will realize that DMo, and Andy Brown make the most sense! Your getting a big, versatile PG, and a Do it all versitale small/power forward!
