I want to give this site and everyone behind the scenes some overdue credit! Ive been waiting years for something like this! Great Job everyone. In a time when UM basketball is enduring some growing pains I beleive that it is imperative that our fan base stay on fire about UM hoops, and John Beilein! I cant wait for the day...possibly next year when JB has the team really clicking and possibly rite outside the top 25 and to finally see crisler packed again! I do hope that JB might lobby to spice up our court a little bit tho! Has anyone seen West Va's court? its pretty cool!
As far as Stu D goes, I cannot wait for next year. I wish I we could fast forward to the 1st of Nov. He is going to be good! I am convinced. JB wouldnt have looked at stu if he didnt see the potential in him. Like I said in 1 of my other blogs, Stu will be that 40% from 3land injection that we so desperatley need! With the addition of everyone else honing theyre shooting touch, like manny whos starting to see the ramafacations of JB's drills and ingenious way of developing skill! D Sims will only get better from behind the arc, lets hope JB will get into him about becoming a little more agressive about taking it to the rack tho! A Wright and everyone is going to be a ton better come this Nov. I think an advantage we will have next year is that guys like Dey Sims and Z Gib wont have to take so many shots from behind the arc, or not have to force things, they be able to shoot when its within the flow of the game... which a lot of that will come with expeirience as well. I am so excited to finally have a guy that is deadly from behind the arc! I beleive that having Stu out on the court is going to open up so many more options for our team next year. Thats what I believe JB does so well in recruiting and in development is increases a players OFFENSIVE ability, that is if the guy doesnt come in with a bunch of it already.....and that was one of my biggest knocks on amaker is that he would recriut guys with little offensive skill! I even think that izzo in his recruiting the past two years has been a little mis leading in the sense that hes getting guys that are nationaly recognized and highly touted but you have to ask the questions like...is the skilled offensivley?, can he shoot?, can he handle real well?, and since 3 years ago when he had chris hill, and alan anderson, and even torbert he hasnt had a lot of guys that are or were good shooters.....like shannon brown, and a lot of the guys he has there now arent exceptional at shooting the basketball, and thats what I like about beilein! Because I would recruit a guy that was highly skilled offensivley before I recruited a guy who was an awesome athlete or who could just play defense because I believe that it is a lot easier to develop defensive skills than it is to develop offensive skills or teach a player to shoot better! Defense is all about effort.
Enough of that tho. So does anyone know who looks like the leading candidate for the third signee? Watts, ebuka, or who?

Novak is on campus. I doubt he will get an offer before Watts. Feels to me like a plan-B guy. Second time has been up though.

Dylan,

what's this thing about Novak being on campus right now even before watts gets into town? What's going on?

Could they offer him and he accepts ahead of Watts? Take both? Preferred walk-on or academic schollie for Novak?

good stuff, but how many minutes do you see him playing next year, im thinking around 12-15 maybe a few more in some games? also i think watts would be a huge get for us, but is we end up with both who will get more playing time?

Watts has a nasty highlight film, and a big strong 2/3 type player is exactly what we need. It's always hard to tell how good of a shooter someone is from their highlights but his stroke looks pretty good and he gets it off easily. He's been my favorite recruit on the board, more polished than Ebuka IMO. We'll see how the weekend goes, hopefully we don't lay an egg against Purdue.

Great stuff as usual dylan....
Stu is everything that i want in a UM recruit right now....hes not going to be hyped much nationally but hes going to improve the team in every way (IQ, shooting, depth, etc.) I am very excited about his abilities on this team.

Watts was my #1 want from the day he came on the scene. Hopefully he shows up and is wowed this weekend!?!?

I don't know about playing a true point guard. But I know the 1 and 2 guards are very similar in Beilein's system and both are responsible for ball handling duties.

I'd do anything to get a James Voskuil type player on this team. If Stu can do that, he will have a great career and I'll love him forever!
