This game was a great measuring stick. If you compare the first Iowa game with this one, you see definate improvements. Especially defensively and rebounding.

Credit to Sims for the effort he is now putting into D and rebounding, it is making a huge difference. There was one possession when he ended up alone on Kelley on the wing and he dug in and D'ed him up strong. Kelley ended up making a prayer in the lane, but I loved seeing Sims D'ing up like that.

We still had a long scoring drought in the first half. But when the talent improves enough to minimize those, we are going to be a solid team.

My favorite player, A Wright, came through with a couple huge shots last night. Although I would classify them as definate FORCES. He's going to have to be careful walking that fine line between being aggressive and foolish with his shot selection.

Shepherd saw a lot of bench last night, but then again Coleman was knocking down some jumpers. So I don't have a huge problem with it.

Good job by Grady also. Harris obviously too. I like how he was automatic from the line at the end of the game... shades of Chauncey Billups.

It's really interesting to follow the developement of this team. I think we got something good going here.

Ron Coleman is getting beat all over the court. Time to sit him down. I don't care if hes a senior.

1 field goal in first 4:30.... Encouraging.
